If Dating Were a Board Meeting, Half of You Would Be Fired

After facilitating 33,000 first dates, I’ve noticed something wildly strange.
Brilliant people — CEOs, investors, founders, surgeons — suddenly abandon every business principle they believe in the moment romance enters the room.
In business you analyze risk.
In dating?
People invest their entire emotional portfolio based on vibes and a nice smile.
If dating worked like a boardroom, here are a few things that would never get approved:
Investing heavily in someone with terrible past performance. Translation: “All my exes were crazy.”
Ignoring obvious risk factors because the pitch was exciting. Translation: Incredible chemistry, zero emotional stability.
Rejecting the safest long-term investment because it didn’t create instant fireworks. Translation: Kind, emotionally intelligent partner… but the first date wasn’t cinematic.
Staying loyal to a failing investment for years hoping it magically turns around.
Believing the universe will handle your strategy instead of having one.
After watching 33,000 first dates, I’ve come to a strange conclusion:
Dating may be the only market where intelligent people consistently make irrational investments.
Which brings me to a completely serious strategic question:
If relationships were evaluated like venture capital deals… which one would you fund?
A. Wild chemistry, huge excitement, but obvious long-term risk
B. Emotionally stable, kind, and reliable — but the first date felt calm, not electric
C. Brilliant, fascinating person… who disappears emotionally every few weeks
D. Stable partner with excellent long-term fundamentals… but they text you “Good morning!” every day for the rest of your life
Be honest.
Which investment gets funded — and which one gets rejected?
Let's hear your comments....Mine tomorrow!
